Aim for human rights' Work On HRIA
Aim for human rights is a Dutch NGO which focuses amongst others on the development of instruments to assess the impact of policies on human rights. Aim for human rights is considered a leading ngo in this field. Aim for human rights has contributed to the debate on Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA) and has developed several instruments:
- Aim for human rights' HRIA Approach
- HRIA instrument for the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP)
- Human Rights and Business
- Health Rights of Women Assessment Instrument (HeRWAI)
- Support Women’s Human Rights in the Western Balkans
Interaction On Developing Instruments
Aim for human rights interacts with, and generates support, from various stakeholders (policy makers, NGO's and human rights institutes) in developing HRIA-related instruments. Stakeholders are essential in the phase of research and development of the instruments, as well as in their testing phase. For example HeRWAI, was tested by organisations from Kenya, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Aim for human rights' extensive international network is being used to actively promote instruments among development and human rights organisations.
