Human Rights Impact Assessment of relevant activities of the European Parliament in field of human rights

This study awarded to the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation by the European Parliament in December 2005 is an impact study of all relevant Europea Parliament activities.

It is an ex-post impact assessment study that focuses on the extent to which activities of the European Parliament and its resolutions have improved a particular situation, either thematic or country-specific.

The study looks at the European Parliamanet as an autonomous actor with particular human rights related tools. It also looks at the Eurpoean Parliament as a counterpart of other EU institutions.

The study provides a description and of the activities, an assessment of the impact of those activities, and concrete recommendation to enhance impact.
