Presentation Health Rights of Women Assessment Instrument (HeRWAI) to be held Monday 4 August 2008
HeRWAI will be presented during the XVII International AIDS conference in Mexico by HeRWAI trainer Corine Otte of Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (www.wgnrr.org).
The conference will take place from 3-8 August and will bring together government officials, experts, scientist, health care workers and activist all working on the issue of HIV & AIDS. The presentation will take place Monday, 4 August, 14.00-17.00, STOP AIDS NOW! NGO Booth 101, Global Village.
WGNRR will host an interactive presentation entitled "Putting MDGs into Practice: HeRWAI Policy Analysis Tool." The presentation will introduce the Health Rights of Women Assesment Instrument (HeRWAI), a human-rights based tool which provides NGOs with a systematic strategy for analysing and critiquing national and international policy. There will also be presentations from Collectivo Feminista Mujeres Universitarias, Honduras and Woman AIDS Support Network, Zimbabwe.
After the conference a HeRWAI training will take place as part of the toolkit developed by WGNRR on the Millennium Development Goals. The training will be for WGNRR members working in Latin America and will be the first training of HeRWAI that will take place in Spanish.
