Workshop: 'Illegal migration and trafficking: Strengthening women’s sexual and reproductive rights.'

During the Women in Development Europe conference ‘Feminist visions for a just Europe’ on 9-11 October 2008, a workshop will be organised by Women’s Global Network on Reproductive Rights and Aim for Human Rights.

The workshop is titled: Illegal migration and trafficking: Strengthening women’s sexual and reproductive rights. The aim of the workshop is to discuss the intersection of illegal migration, trafficking and women’s sexual and reproductive health in the context of human rights. Europe is a significant migrant-receiving continent, an important proponent of human rights and development, as well as a global competitor in world trade. The workshop will look at European countries’ responsibility towards undocumented migrants’ reproductive rights and well-being. As an example the HeRWAI case study on reproductive health care for undocumented women in the Netherlands will be discussed. For the full case study click here.

More information on the conference can be found here. For the program click here.
