UN Global Compact

Network of UN agencies, companies, international labour and civil society organisations that seeks to promote responsible corporate citizenship. This voluntary initiative was launched by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999 and has two objectives:

- mainstream the ten Global Compact principles in business activities around the world

- catalyse actions in support of UN goals

HRIA activities

The Global Compact has issued publications about business and human rights / business and conflict that are related to human rights impact assessment, such as the 'Business guide for conflict impact assessment and risk management'.
