Such issues are related to the EMP, and the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), and the network provides a forum for debate of essential matters that might otherwise prove to be sensitive issues for governments within the EMP. The network also seeks to establish a common vocabulary for policy and security issues in the region and thus contribute to the policy process whilst, at the same time, providing a mechanism by which the views of civil society within the Mediterranean can be represented to decision-makers.
