The benchmarks in this monitoring tool were piloted by 8 NGOs in 11 countries under the coordination of Ipas. A report is available from Ipas (debruynm(at)ipas.org) on the work done by FEIM (Argentina), Federation for Women and Family Planning (Poland), Gender AIDS Forum (South Africa), International Community of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (ICW (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia & Swaziland), Instituto de Educación y Salud (Peru), Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, North-East Region, Punto de Encuentro de la Comunidad, A.C. (Mexico) and Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya (WOFAK).

The tool is particularly useful as it adds a human rights perspective to the Millenium Development Goals. It also gives suggestions on how to use the benchmarks.
