According to this document, the potential benefits of a public health and human rights (PH and HR) impact assessment are that it will

- Contribute to an ethical framework for public health
- Create a more effective (informed) public health workforce
- Build trust between public health professionals, individuals, and communities
- Improve programs, policies, and practices

The steps involved are listed as follows:

Step 3: Public Health and Human Rights Impact Assessment Table

Step 4: Re-assessment: What is the program status?

Step 5: Optimized Program

It lists the common human rights that should be considered in Step 1, and the public health components for Step 3.
